Blood Sugar Control: Pack an Emergency Kit

Blood Sugar Control: Pack an Emergency Kit

A¬†natural¬†disaster can pose many problems. When you live¬†with diabetes, planning and gathering supplies before disaster strikes can ease challenges often faced afterward. Packing essential diabetes supplies as well as general items will keep you prepared for any situation and help you stay in control. Keep your “go” bag in a spot where you can easily find it.

In case of low blood sugar, pack a quick-acting source of sugar, such as glucose tabs or juice boxes. Stock complex carb sources, like crackers with peanut butter, to help stabilize blood glucose. Remember to replace perishables at least once a year.

What else should you pack in your emergency kit? Find out here.
